BlurCast is a browser extension that blurs regions of a web page you choose.
What we store
- BlurCast saves only the position, size, and blur strength of the regions you draw.
- This data is stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local). It never leaves
your device and is never sent to us or any third party.
- BlurCast does not read, collect, or transmit the content of the pages you visit.
No accounts, no servers
- BlurCast has no backend server and no user accounts. It runs entirely in your browser.
Licensing (paid version)
- If you purchase a license, checkout is handled by our payment provider, Polar
(the Merchant of Record). When you enter your license key, BlurCast sends that key to
Polar solely to verify it is valid. No other data is transmitted by BlurCast.
- As with any network request, Polar receives the technical details required to answer it
(such as your IP address). Polar handles that data under its own privacy policy.
- Polar's reply may include details of the purchasing account, such as the buyer's email
address. BlurCast reads only whether the key is valid and how many device activations it
allows. It does not store, log, or use any other part of the reply.
Permissions
- BlurCast requests access to a site only when you explicitly enable it on that site.
